New Zealand is one of only a few countries to recognise the right to education as a human right. We work hard with all parties to ensure this right is protected and all young people are able to fully benefit from the education system.

As well as Board of Trustees hearings, we can provide support for many issues relating to schools, such as meetings with staff after a stand down or issues with associated functions, such as boarding houses. Where possible, we take a collaborative approach with schools to arrive at a solution that addresses concerns of all stakeholders and a clear path forward that is in the best interest of our student clients.

We provide training for Board of Trustee members, parents, students and advocates to ensure everyone understands the process and requirements for a suspension and how to achieve the best outcomes for all concerned.

Where there has been a suspension, we provide a free advocacy service for students at hearings and will do our absolute best to support the student and their family through this process, with post hearing support if required.
